Sky Lantern History

Sky Lanterns were originally used hundreds of years ago as signaling devices by the military. More recently they are used for celebrations and other special occasions, one festival in particular is the Loy Krathong festival in Thailand. Folklore has it that the lanterns carry away with them bad spirits and misfortune leaving behind only good luck and fortune.

Sky Lanterns have acquired many different names over the years, such as Party Lanterns, UFO Balloons, Thai Sky Lanterns, Fire Lanterns, Wish Lanterns, Thai Paper Lanterns, Chinese Lanterns, the list goes on.

Sky lanterns create a truly unforgettable moment and are perfect for all types of celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, christenings, anniversaries, festivals, parties and get togethers of all kinds.

Using coloured sky lanterns during the day can create some spectacular displays that can been seen for miles around.
